Edie Dixon is one of our resident Board Members. Before residing at The Hill, Edie lived, along with her husband, the late F. Eugene “Fitz” Dixon, on the land known as Erdenheim Farms. While residing on the farm, they raised award winning Aberdeen Angus Cattle and Border Cheviot Sheep along with breeding thoroughbred racehorses.
Edie was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and attended St. Timothy’s in Baltimore, MD. She possesses honorary doctorates from Widener College, Cabrini College, and Spring Garden College.
As a member of The Hill at Whitemarsh Board, Edie also serves as a member of the Governance and Facilities Committee.
Edie has served on Cabrini’s Board of Trustees and twice served as chair. She is responsible for initiating many of the current committees and during her lengthy tenure participated on the Development, Nominating, and Executive Committees.
In addition to her service on the Board at The Hill and at Cabrini College, Mrs. Dixon is active in civic and educational roles in the community, having served on the Board of Trustees and the Women’s Board of Abington Hospital, the Board of Trustees for Acadia Partners for Science and Learning, and the Zoological Society of Philadelphia. In the state of Maine, she serves as a member of the Board for the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and St. Christopher’s by-the-Sea. In Florida, she serves on the Board for the Society of the Four Arts.
Edie has two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Dixon continues the couple’s legacy of support for charities, and educational and medical institutions.
