Fresh off his tour of Asia with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Concertmaster David Kim’s next stop was The Great Room of The Hill at Whitemarsh where he was warmly received. Accompanied by Paul S. Jones on piano, David impressed the crowd with a virtuosic performance which included works by Handel and Grieg and concluded with his signature piece: the Carmen Fantasy by Pablo Sarasate. Between numbers Mr. Kim kept the mood light proving that he is nearly as good a storyteller as he is a violinist. When asked about what he thought about his first visit to The Hill, David responded, “My concert at the Hill was such a joy. There were so many enthusiastic and longtime Philadelphia Orchestra supporters and personal friends present. It was really a reunion of sorts. And what a facility: that room was better than some concert halls I play in! I really look forward to returning in the near future.”
