On June 2nd, residents of The Hill at Whitemarsh were invited to explore behind the scenes at WHYY with an exclusive and entertaining tour of this popular public media organization. Residents were treated to interesting stories and history shared by WHYY producers and on-air staff and rare access to the station and individuals responsible for producing WHYY’s award-winning TV, radio, civic space and web-based programming. Residents were able to get a sneak peak at WHYY’s newest addition, the Learning Lab. The Learning Lab is for students of all ages with classes and workshops designed to help people connect, using the latest technology. WHYY is piloting opportunities for residents of retirement communities, which include projects like recording oral histories, with the hope that these experiences will provide meaningful keepsakes for generations to come.
