This has been a busy year for The Hill. Our community has accomplished much and in January we will update our Strategic Plan for the next five years. Start-up mode is over. Now, we have to ensure we develop and maintain the future sustainability and success of The Hill.
One critical aspect of success for our organization is social accountability. We are a not-for-profit organization and, as such, receive many benefits. As a result of this status, we also have a responsibility to give back, to invest in our greater community by meeting the needs of those less fortunate and to strengthen our community from a financial and spiritual standpoint.
Our updated 2012 Strategic Plan will include social accountability. Several of our board members and residents have already shared their ideas for programs and different ways The Hill may be able to reach out to the greater community.
2012 is a pivotal year for The Hill. The year, and our future, will be shaped by the choices we make. These choices need to position the Hill for future success and create a pathway for social accountability.
In the spirit of the holiday season, let us ask ourselves the question, “How might we share a portion of our good fortune to strengthen our greater community?”
May you and your family enjoy a truly happy and healthy holiday season,
Judy McGruther
